It's a mystery. Really. Though the humidity and threatening rain all day didn't help in the aching joints department. But, still, I woke up at 7:00 giving me loads of time until I was picked up at noon. I arrived at the water's edge around 1, then waited for Brian to arrive. Naturally he surprised me. We managed to get on to the 1:30 sailing. I loved the fact that, as it was a weekday, there weren't crowds. In fact, there were only 6 of us on the boat. So the second didn't need to use his mic and just spoke to us informally. Alas, the one hour sped by too quickly, but I loved just watching the rippling waves and feeling the breeze in my hair (and along my legs, so it was a good thing I'd worn my heavier pants).

After we disembarked, Brian and I walked slowly (ouch) to the Amsterdam Brew House. We managed to get a table overlooking the lake. Again, yay. He had a burger of some kind with fries, while I'd chosen Thai Green Curry Chicken in a delightful broth along with jasmine rice and an assortment of raw veggies. We both had a Bourbon Lemonade to begin. Whoa, mama. I really liked it. Then Brian had a Basil Berry Blast(?) which included acai and cranberry while I had a frozen lime margarita. After sitting for a long time and me becoming all stiff (mostly from the humidity), we decided to walk back to where my ride would be. He wanted to stop in at Pawsway but, as it was closed, I never got to find out what it was really about.

We stopped and sat several times along our stroll back. And, then, my ride showed up so I hugged Brian. It'll be a while before I see him again because he has big travelling plans - all the way across the Atlantic. Sigh. But he said he'd take my picture along and insert me into his sightseeing piccies. Uh-huh. So not the same thing (though I'm kidding, as I'm just not able to travel).

It was eerily quiet when I arrived at home. Odd, as I'd exited a war zone with two howling dogs. No wonder I was happy to be out for the day. The ironic thing is that a man was walking his sweet, well-behaved white dog while I was sitting on my walker waiting for my ride. Why? Why? Why? [Yeah, you can fill in the missing words.]

Anyway, I must get ready for more fun tomorrow. So that means resting my weary bones. But, first, I'm still processing the delightful Peg + Cat where all the characters were singing the transition and ending of Beethoven's Symphony #5. Yep, ta-ta-ta daaaah.
