Poor things. I don't blame them as they're all swollen and hurty. But I never meant to hurt them. I blame the heat (obviously).

Still, I had a fabulous day. Not waking up until 8 helped (except for the fact that I'd fallen asleep within a second of hitting the pillow, thereby depriving my hands of their protective gloves. So, when I woke up, my claws were freezing. Sigh.

I sat out in the heat waiting for church-John and (church)Brian to show up around 1:45. They were only a few minutes late. In any case, we arrived at the downtown theatre with lots of time to spare. The house manager found a hidey-space for my walker and we were allowed to seat ourselves before the rest of the public. Even though I missed a lot of visual jokes, I still enjoyed the play. Our friend Cory played a dog. He was hilarious. Other characters were also mostly wild creatures. The writers incorporated several local stories (including those famous capybaras). It was a regular church outing as Brent and other members of the staff showed up.

After the play, we made our way up to the village where we enjoyed Summerlicious, though the dinner menu was a bit of a disappointment. How could a restaurant offer among the selections an 8-oz strip sirloin OR an 8-oz filet mignon? Exactly. They can't without degradation of quality. I had to saw at my filet mignon, though the sauce was lovely and the mashed 'taters were great, as well the summer veggies. Also my gazpacho and chocolate cake. Oh, well. Next time, I'd order something other than steak.

C-J got me home after 6 and I promptly collapsed. Luckily, I have no intention to go anywhere until church on Sunday. However, I was given a very special (sekrit) project, so that'll keep me engaged indoors for a couple of days. When I recovered a bit, I watched the recorded news and game shows. Barely paid any attention to Jeopardy! but the Final was great: two landlocked countries, one in Africa, one in Europe, whose names begin with the same two letters and end with the same four. Stumped? The eventual winner wasn't. She knew immediately that the countries were Swaziland and Switzerland. Neat, eh?

Anyway, I'm going to read for a really short while, then remember to put my gloves on immediately, and then catch some healing sleep. At least I don't need to wake up until 10 to receive my meals. Nighty-night, all.
