Well, neither did I or tonight's Jeopardy! players. The clue rested on one word ("predicted"). Oh, J!, you tease us mercilessly.

But at least the weather stopped torturing us mercilessly. A cold front blew through, so the temp dropped to 68 around 2 p.m. and was only around 75 in the early evening. I'm just so grateful to be able to semi-function again. Speaking of ability to function, the admin of my meals provider asked me whether I'd ever written a grant proposal. No, but, hey, I'm willing to give it a go. She was talking about some past projects and then asked me if I'd have been interested - as I was "isolated". ::puts hands on hips:: Oh, did I set her straight. I may not go out often due to practical limitations, but I am SO not isolated. Not if I can reach out and blab about whatever here or text/e-mail a friend, and get into a conversation. Oy.

Had an unconventional night. I'd fallen asleep accidentally and woke up at 1:30. Immediately reached for "Little Blue" and continued reading the first opera murder mystery, not putting it down until 3-ish when I went to sleep. Later in the day, I finally finished this extremely convoluted book and found out its author had been Harry Truman's daughter. Most (all?) of her mysteries are set in DC, so I'm not surprised. I'm now in the middle of the second one which is so prim and proper (at least superficially). What a change of pace. I'm just waiting for "Little Blue" to finish recharging so I can read in bed again. And that, along with another chilled Perrier, is a wrap! Oh, wait, not quite. I'd received an e-mail from the theatre c-J and I want to visit regarding their accessibility policy. Even though it's general admission, they will permit my illustrious awesomeness (and escort) to seat ourselves early. Yay! And, now, I'm done.
