[Note to self: you really should get an icon of the Swedish chef, lol. But I guess I'll have to let the divine Miss P stand in ... and gobble up the goodies.]

I still remember so-called lifestyle experts recommending that people throw away their fondue pots ... and the next year saying they should acquire one. Silly NOT-experts.

In the 1980s, I used to visit a fondue/raclette restaurant every Saturday. I would order a broth fondue filled with spinach and veggies. I'd dip small morsels of chicken, beef and shrimp in it, along with 'shrooms. After all the food was devoured, the server would pour the broth and veggies into a bowl and that would be my meal. You just just imagine the mélange of flavours!

Have you ever heard of Graham Kerr? Decades ago (the 70s?), he had a revolutionary cooking show on the CBC. How revolutionary? He drank WINE on the set while cooking. And he'd use suggestive language: "First, you take a leak" or "Now you pat your breast". The live audience loved it! Anyway, I have his cookbook from those days as well as a calendar of recipes. He had one for Chinese hot pot, so we may use alternate spicing for the broth. In any case, I'm glad I have something to look forward to ... not to mention research, research, research.
