Hump day ... broke my back!

An incredibly busy and exhausting hump day.

Up at 6. In the lobby waiting for my cab at 8. Well, I got stuffed in the back seat with 2 other women and there was 1 in the front seat. But it got me downtown.

Stopped in at bank to get out money. Money is necessary. Can't do much without it.

Took my 11x14 faded graduation portrait and a smaller version to Blacks to have it reproduced and enlarged.

Bought a whole bunch at HMV: Commander-in-Chief (Yaay), Stargate Season 9, Il Divo, DaVinci Code 3-disc special DVDs; and 2 Il Divo CDs.

Got holiday cooking magazines and a lovely red felt carry bag (matches my coat) at Coles.

Off to the doctor's. She was incredibly busy and I had to wait a long time. But she's really happy about my blood pressure management but said that I cannot reduce the medication any more. I won't have to go back until my annual physical at the beginning of March. Got two prescriptions. And a flu shot. Sat in waiting room for 10 minutes for any reaction.

Then hoofed (limped) up to the Bay where Andre (my fave Dior artist) was going to do a makeover. [Okay, stop snickering. My face doesn't normally shatter any mirrors. So, there!] He took a long time with my face, as he was using colours and techniques he had not done before with me. I loved the look, even though the eyes were so soft and I had bright pink lips. Exchanged air kisses. Also bought an exorbitant (believe me) amount of makeup. If I could, I'd post a poll to see who could guess the correct and insane dollar amount. Serious money. But, hey, once a year.

Dragged myself to the Obsession counter and bought the body lotion. Totally lost my head and forgot to get the fabulous Shower Gel. Which keeps my skin silken.

Then things began to get a little time-sensitive. Dragging my cloth buggy on wheels, my purse, my water bottle and 2 paper shopping bags, I got from the Bay over to Roy Thomson Hall (to pick up the Christmas Eve tickets).

Sat for a few minutes outside my old workplace to regain my strength. Then walked half a block to my pickup point waiting for my return cab. Thankfully I didn't have to stand for long and there was only one other passenger in the back seat, so there was room for me and room for my major purchases.

I was dropped off at home at 2:30. I sat down and ate a chocolate bar, the first thing I'd had since brekkie (bacon & eggs and a tomato).

Then I dragged myself off to the drugstore to drop off my prescriptions. Bought 2 shampoos for my hair and also Christmas gift bags for the prezzies I'm giving my former colleagues at dinner on Monday. And tokens.

At the hardware store next door, picked up 2 extension cords for the two trees and had keys copied.

Then, finally, managed to get home and collapse. Called M. to say I ws finally home, and had just taken 2 Tylenol 3s. Yup, I'm in serious pain or, at least, my left arm is. And I was having a lot of trouble staying awake. So M. said to eat something and have a nap.

I had some leftover frozen chicken stew and rye bread and then slept for 2 hours.

Back up to watch Australian Princess. I love the fancy aspects of it.

[livejournal.com profile] tepintzin, got another call from Michael. He's just learned how serious the wound had been. A titch deeper and his aorta would have been punctured. If that had happened, he wouldn't even have made it to the ambulance. As it is, he has scarring of his lung. But he has gone back to full work (not light duties), though he stayed home tonight. Alex is staying with him - and paying rent. So, that's good. Protection, some company, and financial responsibility.

Finally got around to writing today's chapter of my Gilesfic. And I can't believe that November is nearly over and, yet, I've still managed to write every day. Not always good, but I am producing something each and every day. It's a good exercise in discipline and in prodding myself to using my imagination. See: my zany version of NaNoNoWriMo!

Anyway, I think I'm about to collapse. For sure. At least I don't have to wake up tomorrow morning. I'll cook a new soup and Brian is coming over for dinner. And, though he doesn't know it, helping me put up the trees and take the lattices to storage.

Very, very, very, very tired hugs,
Me.
