Blonde is desperately trying to avoid coming down with ... something.

The signs aren't good. Going to bed by 10:00 p.m. ???????
Even worse, waking up around 3:15, unable to breathe properly and with a tightening throat. I tried to get back to sleep, but finally gave up around 4:45. So I toddled out to the living room and made myself a cup of coffee. Blargh.

I accomplished so little today. I managed to refresh the inside of my tweed cape, hanging it off the shower pole and blow drying it first before using a lint roller on it. Ha! Who needs a dry cleaner? Not I. But I got dizzy standing and waving the implement, so I'll do the outer part tomorrow. Then I carried the (oh I hope it's not really) broken printer out to the dining table. And I aired out my room for most of the day. If I'm about to be sick, I need to get that stale air OUT.

However, as one might expect, I began to flag in the early afternoon. So I dug through some packets of hot chocolate mix and found two sachets of instant cappuccino. So I made myself a cup. And then decided to try to have a nap. I hesitated to lie down because of the breathing problems. Surprisingly, my nasal passages did dry up and I slept. Not fabulously but better than expected. I think the milk powder helped.

I rewatched last week's season opener of Castle. I love Kate's softness from the morning after and, AFAIC, Nathan Fillion is one of the most cuddleable (yes, I'm making that word up) men on the planet. ::wants::

Oops - just took a break to pet one of the cats, the mischief maker. But all of the cats are responding with such affection, I'm touched. Even the aloof Madame T. And the boy who's always had this hurt, suspicious look on his face. Alas, he's had a sad past. But his face has been so open and trusting this week, I'm simply in awe. And grateful.

Okay, time to put this baby to bed. And moi as well. But I've just discovered one unsettling symptom. I've had the tight throat for a couple of weeks. Which is nothing new and is usually the warning signal that I'm about to come down with a cold. However, I've just had a couple of 'nanas for a snack, along with diluted blueberry-pomegranate juice. And my throat seems to be tightening. Uh ... I've never had a reaction to 'nanas before; used to devour them. I don't have a latex allergy (another new fact I learned about 'nana skins). OTOH, I don't seem to have the same problem when I have a 'nana with cereal and milk, so I'll try that tomorrow ... and compare notes. In any case, a closed-up throat is NO fun at all.
