Blonde seeks cuddly-wuddly sleepies
Can you spell insomnia?
Can you say insomnia?
Can you scream and shriek insomnia?
Thank you.
Ugh. Today's bout had a bit of a catalyst. I woke up at 5:30 to the sound of John having a war with some pots and pans in the kitchen. Wha--? Well, there goes my hope to have a full night's sleep. So I puttered around on the 'puter until it was time for brekkie (which was my Wednesday special of honey mustard ham, scalloped 'taters and baby chinese veggies). However, as is becoming a pattern, I began to flag mid morning. By 11, I was ready for a nap. But--but--but I need to finish my story. No problem, said the overconfident part of moi, you'll have plenty of time, even if you set your alarm for 1:30.
So I listened to that part of me and had a desperately needed nap. When I got up, it was quite comical to see my brain jumping through hoops, rearranging the story to its latest incarnation. And - yay - I sent it off at 4:52, with a Whole. Eight. Minutes to spare. Yes, I rock. And, um, am crazy, too.
Considering the fact that I hadn't had lunch at all, I had my mixed chicken veg and hearty veg soups along with the healthy bread and cheese. And, then, I could finally relax.
In the evening, I called up my friend BD with whom I'd talked yesterday, as he's volunteering for the Christmas Eve service at a special position that doesn't require standing. Yesterday, I was not interested. But, today, I am, especially considering that this will be my 20th anniversary of walking into an MCCT service. So, we've figured we're going to book our rides with our service and hope to high heaven that we're put in the same vehicle (considering that he lives only 3 miles away from me. And, then, I walked into the kitchen and asked John if he'd like to be my guest for the evening (especially as we're having separate plans for Christmas). So, tomorrow, I'm going to e-mail the volunteer co-ordinator and offer my services.
I finally watched this week's Glee and N.C.I.S. and was underwhelmed by both (with the exception of the last couple minutes of the latter show). I've had my dinner of a 'nana, apples and a wee bit of chocolate. Also, thanks to a suggestion from a kind flister, I'm drinking a tall glass of hot chocolate with grated chocolate/cinnamon/sugar sprinkles. I hope it helps me to get a full night's sleep.
And I sent off a request to Brian for sesame seeds (I was sure I had some) and parsley for tomorrow's recipe. I think I refined it reeeeeeal good! But we won't know until we actually make it tomorrow. So, here's some luck to me, until you hear from me again. Nighty-night, all.
