Because I needed something cute SO much. [And why does the one penguin tripping up the other remind me of John and Rodney?]

What an amazing day it was. Oh, yes, it was a bit pesky to have the temps pushing up into the 80s again ::sighs:: but it didn't detract from the celebration of Brent's 35th Anniversary as Senior Pastor of MCCT, the longest serving SP in the denomination. So, we had special guests and wonderful music and then Brent spoke and spoke and then began his sermon. Eeeeek. I was looking at my watch and cringing. So, I had to leave at the beginning of communion (served to me by Deacon Linda along with such a gentle blessing; church-John and I had gone up to her for annointing, too). I had a minute to sign the guest book in the social hall, but then had to go outside to wait for my ride. So I missed all the goodies at the reception. And a chance to sing Breathe at the end of communion. Wah. To top it off, my ride was late anyway. ::pouts::

I don't know how well the summerfest picnic did in the park next door. I heard a wee bit of a male Sinatra-style jazz singer, but otherwise things were very quiet. In any case, it was just way too hot to be outdoors under the blazing sun. Even my driver had turned on his AC as he gave me a wonderful sightseeing ride home. I had a titch of a nap (too short). It also didn't help that I woke up at 5:30 a.m., though the alarm was set for 6. Oh, well. ::shrugs shoulders:: I spent the time well, fixing my eye makeup.

Okay, universe, I'm hoping to get some refreshing sleep tonight. None of this sweating on-and-off and greasy face yuckiness.

A RL friend just posted this on fb and I simply had to share it here. What better way to get the message across than in music and ... dismissive parody!

Season 2 is NOW LIVE! Episode 1: Appropriate is Not the Word, featuring guest stars Joss Whedon, Felicia Day, Amber Benson, Emma Caulfield, Tricia Helfer, Dichen Lachman, Sasha Roiz, and Willie Warren.

So, I learned a new word from Cheeks (though I'm not too keen on his facial hair). It's "nontroversy".

A few examples of amazing flash mobs. Okay, so I haven't looked up the proper definition in an urban dictionary, but flash mobs are groups of seemingly random people, assembled in any PUBLIC venue. Suddenly, some music starts and a couple of people start to dance (or sing or play). Then more join in until there's a whole lot of them. After they finish dancing (or singing or playing), they all drift away ... as if it never happened. The purpose: just to put a smile on people's faces!!! So ... how do they do it? Well, the choir doing the Hallelujah Chorus was a real group, so it wasn't hard to simply get them to the food court. For the dance ones, usually people will respond to a FB or other social media post. There will be several leaders who will send out the choreography so that everyone knows how to move in synch. And, amazingly enough, this is now a global phenomenon.
