Huh? Since when is three MY number? It's always been either four or sixteen. But, by sheer coincidence, there were many examples of threes since early morning.

I posted three examples of flash mobs. When? Oh ... at 3:03 a.m. Seriously, this was not intentional. I climbed into bed around 3:11 but couldn't fall asleep until past 4, by my estimate. I wasn't thrilled to wake up after only three hours. ::sighs:: I'd dreamt about a political discussion with a woman named Mariska (whose name sounds very close to "triska").

It was another scorcher of a day (90F), so I tried to distract myself from the pain, not to mention swollen ankles the size of whaleboats! I took one extra-strength dose of ibuprophen, hoping to reduce the swelling and settled down to watch – what else but – three episodes of Glee S2.

I was so very tired due to inadequate sleep, but resisted taking a nap. After I finished with the dishes, I was so relieved to limp into the shower. And I cut my bangs. I still can't believe how young they make me look. ::pets cute hair:: I've just taken another (or is it the third?) dose of painkillers. I really hope I'll sleep tonight. I'm trying to stay cool, so the only lights on are from the Christmas tree and piggy garland. I'm wearing my red halter top nightie, so it's less restrictive, too. Anyway, I think I'm ready to hit my personal land'o'dreams.

Which is to take precedence at the close of the day? Uh ... I'll take Bounce for $200, Alex.

So, despite my best intentions, I didn't make a spreadsheet. ::sighs:: But I did manage to colour my hair, hence the delighted obsession with bounce-bounce-bounce! And it's SO soft. I know: as if I haven't dyed my hair before. Hmm – perhaps they've improved the formula.

Once that was done, then I put my aching back to the test and did the towels. And ended up with swollen fingers for my effort. This does not bode well for the rest of the week. ::sighs::

OTOH, I did extend my FB mini-family by friending Rev. Tom's husband. Now I'm getting exposure to all sorts of articles from Jamaica. Not that they're generally positive, but it's an education for me.

I also rewatched two Glee episodes: the Nationals one and another one. In hunting for the second one, I came across a Glee community on LJ. How could I not have thought to search for it before? ::scratches blonde head:: Anyway, I'm on it now which makes my Gleeky heart happy!

I've had my 3-hour nap that helped with the pain a bit, so will be trying to catch up reading my flist. Not that there's a lot on Memorial Day which I hope was good for those of you who reside south of MY border. ::meanders off while stroking hair::

So ... what were my accomplishments for this Saturday of a long holiday weekend?

Well, I woke up at ::shrieks in indignation:: 6:30 a.m. Hey, body! Yes, I mean you. You're supposed to be sleeping in. ::sighs::

The next accomplishment was finally (FINALLY) washing my hair, as it was reasonably NOT cold in the afternoon. ::sighs in bliss:: Ah, lovely bouncy hair.

Next, I finally (FINALLY) caught up with my flist. I had to go back through a week of posts just to make sure.

I've been reading SLOG and posted a compassionate response to a Savage Love Letter of the Day. Dan asked us, his readers, to have at it and, so far, the letter writer has received (I believe) over 600 comments (with only a handful of trollish ones).

I had a nap. Yes, it's an accomplishment when I can fall asleep despite being in pain.

I've picked out my ivory blouse with self ties to wear with the polka dot outfit to church tomorrow. The only thing I have to hunt for is my sapphire jewellery: my brooch and earrings. I may still do that before I go to sleep.

Okay, I feel accomplished enough. ::giggles and signs off::

OTOH, it could be worse. ::grimaces in remembrance of my recurring insomnia years ago::

Spent most of the day watching another handful of Glee episodes, not so much to manage pain but boredom this time (with a touch of nausea in the afternoon: how lucky can I get? at least a nap helped). The handful included the one with NPH guesting and I came to the conclusion that this must have been the first epi I ever saw (probably thanks to my flist posting the highlighted duet via YouTube). So, definite YAY to my flist; otherwise I probably would never have known about the show. [Just as the Halloween Browncoat clip from Castle was posted here. I hereby acknowledge that flist is awesome!]

Anyway, that is the extent of my minimalist posting for the day. Let's hope for a more productive (uh ... less nauseous) tomorrow.

It certainly was a terrific day - only a few years ago (right, Jane?) - when you were born and ::giggles:: changed the world. Mind you, I'm sure there are people who weren't expecting HOW you would change it.

Thank you for sharing yourself, your home life and your ... uh ... imagealicious words with all of us!

I definitely enjoyed not doing anything today. Though waking up was unusual. My left hand was cramping at the time. I was dreaming about the lemon-cutting accident and the tiny scab it's left on my index finger. Well, in the dream, it seems that I cam down with a severe infection. I don't know if any of you have ever watched How Clean Is Your House, but Kim and Aggie are really good at mentioning all of those bacteria out there. In gruesome detail. One of them is called listeria. Well, the way the dream was going is that I'd notice all sorts of objects around me covered in tiny orange dots (imagine tobiko, aka flying fish roe). So I'd dutifully wipe surfaces and objects off, thinking I'd killed the bacteria. Then, a short while later, I'd look and the orange dots would be back. In an age of MRSA and other resistant strains, you can imagine this would be quite a frightening outlook. So that's what I woke up to. ::shudders::

Beyond that, the only other thing of (unpleasant) note is that the resident bigot on SLOG has returned. He wasn't missed. I posted a couple of comments and am composing a third one.

Anyway, that was my mostly lazy day (during which I also replied to comments from my flist). My eye is beginning to act up, so I think I'll pamper it by snuggling with the soft piggies.

Alas, not that kind of check (which I spell cheque anyway).

Tired. Check.
Dizzy. Check.
Sore. Check.

Today's sole accomplishment was trying to get caught up reading my flist. Well ... I'm nearly there (which generally, as in Star Wars, doesn't count or gets you blown up).

So ... bed? Oh, yes, please. It's time for some healing piggy magic tiems.

Poor, poor blonde! Everything and everybody conspired to steal time from her on Friday.

First it was the provincial government. What? How? Well, the blonde was offered Air Miles to participate in a very extensive online health survey. Um ... 30 minutes? Try TWO hours. Oy. Only after I finished could I go hunt down brekkie (Friday's delightful Fish'n'chips). Lunch was irresponsible equally delightful. What was it? Um ... ice cream? But-but-but, the blonde sputters, I found dairy has a calming effect on my gastric issues. Yeah, yeah, I can see I'm not convincing anybody.

Later I did a more nuanced rewatch of the chosen episode for [livejournal.com profile] sga_squee, namely Sateda. It was noteworthy to realize that this was only the second time I'd ever seen the episode. Well, it was difficult to watch, not only because of the subject matter, but also for the style of filming with many jarring flashbacks (not to mention people getting blown up and killed).

After that, it was high time to wash my hair (even though I was feeling dizzy and the lump on my right foot was really painful). So, blondie, what's for dinner? How about a salmon filet along with a few tomatoes, followed by an apple and the last blueberry muffin for dessert.

I'd put off taking a nap for so many hours that I was desperate to take one, even though it was already 9:30 and the rewatch always starts around 10:00. But I set my alarm for 10:40 and fell asleep instantly. Hence I was extremely reluctant to wake up in order to participate in posting comments about the episode. But I did. And now I'm yawning mightily. Once again, I'm behind on reading my flist, but I can't do anything about that tonight. So ... tomorrow?

There was one incandescent moment of beauty. I was in the kitchen at 7:00 a.m. and observed the sunrise, not only the actual sun in a clear sky, but also its reflection in the condo windows across the lake from me. It was exquisite. Mind you, it was still a cold day. But I guess I can't have everything I want ... YET!

Daylight Savings Time = Ev0l. As is its corresponding twin, the return to Standard Time. So, twice a year, my body goes through hell. I'm sure you can understand why I'm pissed off.

It didn't help that I had less than four hours of sleep Saturday night (really, Sunday morning). At least my cellphone alarm woke me up and my traditional Bangers'n'mash was comforting. I did my best to try to look ... human, wearing my navy polka-dot chiffon float with matching hair floof. I still wore my boots and winter coat to church, because it was cool in the morning and my poor ankle needed support.

Between the ankle pain and the time change, I had a tough time concentrating on Brent's sermon. Something, something, yadda, something. But I was relieved to get an update on church-John's condition. I hadn't realized he'd had quadruple bypass surgery. But he's home now, recovering.

After church, I sat outside in the sun. I shared my ride home with a woman who was going to visit her sister. Her story made me appreciate what I do have. Why? Well, her sister had already lost the vision in one eye as a result of violence and had been a passenger on that ill-fated recent train derailment. Because of that accident, she's at serious risk for losing her sight completely. That would be my greatest fear (so I guess I should be content with my 20/200, right?). Yes, I know other people deal with blindness, but I am not other people.

The driver let me out at the pharmacy where I got a good deal on Omega-3 fish oil capsules. I also managed to get the last canister of dry hair shampoo. Yay. Then I crossed the street to the supermarket. You already know everything I buy there, so it was more of the same. But I still wanted to splurge, yet was loathe to justify the cost of a side of smoked salmon (especially if I'm going to gobble it up quickly). So, instead, I bought four filets of apple smoked wild salmon (on sale) that'll make four meals. I also had a craving for sauerkraut, so got a jar of that.

If I hadn't injured my ankle, I would have loved to be walking along the lake. But I needed to get home and collapse. Lunch was my fave walnut-carrot muffins. My blinds were raised to the top and the window was wide open, so I could at least hear all the birds as well as barking dogs. Even if I couldn't be out there, a lot of others were enjoying the weather.

I finally closed the window because a chill was setting in and decided to have a nap. Unfortunately, an hour in, BD called me. He's missed a lot of church lately because of deteriorating health and just got a potential diagnosis of a serious condition that someone else on my flist has. What is it about people all around me suffering? I know, that's a question for the universe.

As I was unable to get back to my nap, I decided to have supper. I heated up two portions of Cream-of-Glue soup (oh, sorry, I meant Cream of Cauliflower /sarcasm) and had them with great reluctance. Yuck, indeed.

It's no wonder I was so tired and knew I wouldn't make any sense if I tried to post last night. Even so, I'm barely with it right now. ::sighs:: Okay, I need to do something to cheer myself up. ::glances around and spies a muffin box::
