Beginning to feel more hopeful.
It didn't take much. First of all I got a call back from the bureaucrat assigned to me and she said her clerk would mail me a new application package. And - this time - I'll actually read what my GP's supposed to complete. [Yeah, that was really stupid of me not to have done it before. But at least I've learnt that particular lesson.]
I managed to fling up (yes, that's accurate enough) two more strings of lights onto the tree. I'm not thrilled to see how the green ones disappear, so may get another coloured string. As for the flinging UP, well, I felt secure enough to ONLY step on the first step of the stool. I was too terrified to try for the second one. It might have been different if the grab bar were higher. [And, yes, I remember the good old days when I'd stand on the kitchen counter to wallpaper. I may have also knelt ON top of the fridge. ::sighs::]
I tried to listen to the gift CD but Linux wouldn't let me. I could only get the first track. Arrgghh. I e-mailed church-John anyway, as I'd looked up Maltese dogs and now know that it's a TOY breed. And most of them are totes adorb.
I also don't know where Brian is hiding. He sent me an e-mail from his work account (highly unusual; could he be away on a trip?) asking me to create a new Google Doc for the next installment of our show. Only ONE problem. And it has to do with Linux ... again. ::pouts:: It's NO fun being a guinea piggy when there are problems I don't know how to navigate (read: bulldoze) through.
At least I had a two-hour (stretched to three) nap and am now sitting in the dark with the only illumination (quite good, actually) coming from the tree lights to my left and the garland and piggy lights behind me. Oh, and another thing. I was finally stubborn enough to fix my sound machine. It's no longer stuck on the 60-minute timer which is fabulous, as my body really needs the uninterrupted sound. Yay me!!!
