Oh ... what a difference 24 hours makes!

Though I did get off to a rocky start. Yes, I pulled a bedraggled self into bed last night at a totally ridiculously early hour and slept ... for a bit. Then I woke up after midnight, not able to breathe. So I got out of bed and fooled around on the 'puter for a couple of hours. Finally ... back to bed. This time I managed to sleep for the remainder of the night. Yay.

It was supposed to be hot but, when I went outside around 5:45 to wait for Brian, there was a delightful breeze, so I felt fabulous. Brian showed up at 6:15 and we were off on our wee adventure. We both needed something at Canadian Tire. What did I buy? A pine toilet seat! Let's hope this one keeps its hinges. ::sighs:: Then we were off to McDonald's because we both had coupons. I got the 2-can-dine special and saved half of it for a lunchtime treat tomorrow.

We had time to talk and I expressed how disheartened I felt at the prospect of having to leave his place late-ish every Thursday (also mentioning how draining it is to deal with the pain) and suggested we meet only every two weeks. I hate the thought of not seeing him as often, though he's thinking we can go exploring on the off weeks without visiting his place. There are all sorts of hidden treasures in our part of the city (bakeries, a seafoodmonger, etc.). OTOH, he's already discussed changing the format of the show, with less food purchasing, prepping and cooking for him and MUCH more vivacious talking between the two of us. I also suggested we film one episode with each of us on the recliners at either end of his sofa, with food and drink on the seat between us. As it's the humour of our interaction that works the best, we have to highlight that. But I guess we can talk about that for the next 4 weeks, as we'll be having sammidges each Thursday at Humber Bay Park (with free parking, TYVM).

What with the talking and stuff, I didn't get home until later than normal. And then I presented John with the brand new toilet seat. Ta-da! Though I was able to unscrew the old one, I made him seat this one, 'cuz he had to find a screwdriver. He'd also picked up some cherries for me, so now I have the superior Canadian ones and the Grade B ones from Washington state.

I'm about ready to fall into bed. My biggest goal for tomorrow is to see whether I can muster enough energy to get that pedicure I've been postponing. I really, really should - because I know I'll feel fabulous. But it's supposed to be a semi-scorcher. Oh, decisions, decisions.
