Go to bed before midnight and you might fall out of bed at 1:59!
That's the kind of night - and day - I had. After that mishap, I fell asleep again, but woke up between 3 and 4. Suffered through trying to sleep but gave up and got out of bed before 5. Oh, well, just means I have more time to waste.
It was a cool day and I vacillated between taking my fall coat (I know!) or not. Compromised by taking my winter gloves(!) on a cool, cloudy day. Which was a darn cold day by the time I was dropped off at the beach by 9:15 along with a member of the executive who casually asked me if I was interested in running for a position. Sneaky, eh?
Met people I knew (my new pal Janet finally arrived) and a few others. While the walkers went off on their official walk, I stayed behind as "security" (guarding purses). When they returned, we had our bbq. I got absolutely stuffed having a hot dog, a burger, and scarfing down a huge slab of sweet raw onion on a thick slice of cheese. Washed everything down with iced tea and a few green grapes. Once we were done, several of us who were waiting for rides left the beach and headed north to the Tim Horton's which had tables and chairs outside which is when we experienced the recently revealed searing sun. But I really enjoyed the heat.
My driver arrived at 2:15 (about 15 minutes early) and I was home at 2:35 at which point I collapsed. Well, after I poured myself in the shower and washed the sand out of my toes (yuck). I then took a muscle relaxant and went to bed. Zoned through the news but watched my game shows. To my "Surprise" (that was the clue), the Canadian was the only one to bet, got the Final right on Jeopardy!, and won big. Yay!
Despite my tiredness and pain, I searched for - and found - my sandals and a thank-you card for Fatima (it's a cat card from MOMA IIRC - the last one). Frankly, I was shocked to have any success tonight, but it'll save me time and anxiety tomorrow morning. I can't wait for the pampering.
Exchanged emails with church-John. I suggested 11:00 a.m. for our fancy brunch on Sunday. Can't wait for that, too. Yay!!!
