Okay, so where is it written in the Book of the Blonde that, when I need to go to bed early because of pain, I will wake up far earlier than a reasonable hour. For the record, 4-ish is NOT reasonable. I stayed up for a while, then crawled back into bed at 5:30. I don't know how, but I did fall asleep again and woke up at 10. That IS reasonable.
What was also reasonable was brekkie, even though I looked at the label askance. I didn't know what to expect of Vegetable chili (with rice and broccoli), but it was mild and delicate. So that helped restore my equilibrium. Ah, yes, equilibrium. I'm wondering if the reason I've been so optimistic these last few days is because we're heading toward the vernal equinox – one of my fave times of the year, because of days getting longer.
So what went well today? I phoned to make an appointment with my GP (yes ... her) and snagged one for Friday morning. Not that I want to see her (no kidding), but I need a form filled out. And the location won't be changing until the first week of April.
After that, I got inspired and hope I can accomplish something crucial by Friday. I'm not saying what it is, but it's going to require a lot of focus (which has been lacking lately, if you hadn't gathered).
I spent my afternoon reading two very long fics (even though I'd read them before). I guess I just was in that kind of a mood. A nap was had and, now that I'm not in severe pain, I intend to stay up and do the SLOG catching up thing. The amazing thing about today is that I didn't take any painkillers. I'm not saying there's no discomfort, but at least it's in the background. I guess that's a tick in the WIN column.
