The best things about today were sleeping in until the alarm at 9 and later having a 2.5 hour afternoon nap while wrapped up in a big towel (reminding me of my self-indulgent summer afternoon naps on my balcony decades ago). The next best thing was the thunderstorm in the evening.
The comfort in continuing to counter the ugliness of murder came from music, as one of my very supportive friends at church (she's always sharing my reviews) shared the soloist's contribution from yesterday. It was so reassuring to listen to his passion-filled voice.
Unfortunately, the ugliness was ever-present during the evening news. So, I'd forgotten about how (IIRC) a former brutalist provincial government caused long-term care facilities for people with severe mental illnesses to close, thereby dumping the former residents to fend for themselves. And that's how this 29-year old's parents were stuck with trying to deal with him and his apparently untreatable condition. ::screams:: Why do we have such stupid, short-sighted governments? Well, usually because they promise tax cuts. Arrgghh.
After my customary game shows, I also watched my guilty pleasures, Hot Bench and Judge Judy. I can't watch them all the time because the stupidity gets to be overwhelming. But, for an occasional distraction, they'll do.
Anyway, time for more water … even if I have to pour it myself. Awww, blondie. Poor baby. ::rolls eyes at self!::
