Okay, so NOT really scary, but fast and gaining velocity. It was a wild ride that started out with confusion and defeat when I woke up early and tried to learn how to use my iPad to create docs. Uh … so one has to pay a licence/subscription fee for Office? Say what? Anyway, I gave up on that route and came back to my desktop. Halfway through the morning, there's a momentary power outage. When the computer restarted, imagine my shock: MY COLOURS WERE BACK!!! I was able to open a new dec and retrieve saved ones. I don't think they're all safe, but it's so much better than what I was dreading. Also, the colours are back in Edge which is why I'm typing a million times faster than before. I don't understand, but I'll take it.
Because I'm functional again, I exchanged emails with the person whom I'm succeeding in Communications. We're going to have a phone meeting on Friday. Back to sliding on thin ice, I read an email from our wonderful cellist at church. He said he wouldn't be coming back (ever?) because he brought his fiancée a couple times but she just couldn't get into it; she wants to find a church she's comfortable bringing (their future?) children to. I'm both sad and devastated as he's an amazing musician; I'm also wondering whether she think's our church is just a wee bit too queer. Mind you, I'm not going to ask him. Siiiiiiiiigh.
Okay, I think that's enough tumbling down Everest for today. Oh, wait. I'm not finished. We had rain yesterday. I thought it was just a steady but brief rain. Turned out there were lots of really scary flooding incidents including two guys in an elevator going to the basement. The elevator began flooding and they're lucky to be alive. They were rescued by two cops(?) who used a crowbar. One of the guys was a trained lifeguard but was so freaked he forgot HOW to swim! There were also photos of people being helped out of stalled streetcars. There'll be lots of dry cleaning bills this weekend.
Filled in the rest of the day by resuming reading the French book ON MY DESKTOP and watching the usual TV shows. Now I'm just exhausted and hope I can sleep even though my sinuses are bugging me. Must do some breathing exercises. And perhaps hug a piggy!
