Well, it was a tense and boring morning. Up at 8 and waited. And waited. And waited.
No.Delivery.
Was shivering, so huddled under the covers and actually napped. Finally, finally, it was delivered by (as the insert called them, the wizards of) the Post Office at 1:48 p.m. M also called in the meantime and said I should go to the building's bbq, even though I wasn't feeling well. But, after the building manager came and knocked on my door, I got up, got dressed, put on eye makeup and went to the party. It was fabulous outside - not too hot with a light breeze. And there were pretty boats out on the water. I ate a couple of burgers with corn relish and long pickle slices. Also had fresh fruit salad (watermelon, grapes, blueberries, strawberries: the really good stuff) and tiny pieces of cake and pop.
Sat and talked with people I'd never met before. Got caught up on gossip. Had a good time. But finally left at 5. I watered my plants and then came back inside. Well, I've read the first sentence of DH. Too tired to read any more. Besides I had homework for church: had to watch Pay It Forward in preparation for tomorrow's sermon. Cried lots at the end. I'd forgotten parts of it since it first came out. M called and I mentioned how I'd talked about Mr. D. in my post yesterday. M acknowledged that the past week and a half have been very difficult for me, too, because I'd had nobody to talk to. But I said that the posting had calmed me considerably. Then I watched the latest Robin Williams film, License to Wed. So-so, though the vows written in sand on the beach were special.
Anyway, I'm taking DH to church tomorrow so I can read it during transit. And, then, I won't feel so left out. Though I'll have to be vigilant to remain spoiler free. So, remember, put the damn spoilers behind a cut.
Saturdayish hugs,
H.
