I had to wake up this morning at 7, so I could get out the door while it was still relatively only warm. But I had to delay my outing. I was in possession of 13 empty wine bottles and 12 coolers. That's a lot of glass to be bumping into in the living room entrance. But, alas, the beer store that accepts returns wasn't opening until 10. Okay, I can hold off until then. So, I went out and returned them and bought a malt-based margarita drink. As I'd forgotten the supermarket floor plan, I had to come home, drop off the booze and head out again. Now it's hot, especially when the sun is blazing down on me.

I bought tokens, nail polish remover, an anniversary card for M and I asked the pharmacist about wrist splints because - oh joy NOT - I couldn't hold my cup of juice in my right hand this morning. Okay, that's it. I want new body parts! But I guess all I'm getting is the splint. I'm supposed to sleep with it on. Great. Make me feel even more alien. Anyway, on to the fun grocery shopping part. I picked up (cleaned the store out of) cherries; also calamari, lamb skewers, very garlicky tzatsiki, baby carrots, deli roasted sweet potato salad and a few other things. Then, home.

I quickly cooked half the lamb and also the calamari and took them out on the patio with the tzatziki. And a large bottle of water. I stayed out until 3 (started rereading DH) and only came in because I was SO cold - what with being in the shadows. The sun doesn't come back around to the north side until close to sunset. While I was out, a 40-odd year resident of the building stopped to chat. He was a major gardener and was admiring my juniper bushes as well as my herb garden.

When I came in, I was exhausted. Was on the 'puter for a little while, watched a cute gay movie, Adam and Steve, then zonked out. M. called, thanking both John and me for the excellent care we'd given to Miss Widge. And then I fell asleep again, only to be woken up by John who had returned after a mystery day out. Hey! I thought I was supposed to know everything!

I have a cute prawny B/G on the brain, so will probably write it tomorrow. Because brain not here right now. So fingers will go on auto-pilot and wish everyone a good night.

The usual hugs,
H.
