Okay, so I've taken things a bit easier yesterday and today. Because of the floaters, I excused myself from being on duty at church. I wore my sunglasses throughout and it just wouldn't have worked out. So, people wondered (silly them) if it was an affected fashion statement. Um, no.
Anyway, there was tons of snow yesterday and my driver had a very hard time getting traction in my driveway. But at least I got to church safely and quickly (because so many others had cancelled). There was a bit of a Christmas thrift store fair and I spent a whole FIVE dollars (2 for a wall hanging and 3 for filigree gold stars). As I'm not doing the major tree this year, I'm happy with what I bought.
My driver was early so I got home and it had already started raining. Weird weather. Called M to say I was home safely. Called Brian who said he'd be over around 3:30. When he showed up I had just finished cooking the herb & garlic butterflied shrimp and a package of frozen okra. And we drank ginger ale. After we ate, we repaired to the bedroom to look at the colours I'd applied to his new place. And then we both went blind trying to visualize from his paint chips and cutesy design cards. He also helped me put my Degas back up (that had fallen off the dining wall without knocking any of my crystal off ... again). We've decided we need to go back to the condo to do EXACT measurements (I'm a stickler for accurate blueprints) and take more pictures.
M called really late (10:45) and we were on the phone for ages. And, then, I just relaxed and tried to give my eyes a rest.
Fell asleep with the lights on and woke up in the middle of a nightmare/weird dream. I was trying to save Lisa Simpson's candy that somebody had stolen; there was also a room with many people, all of whom were wearing these diaper-like outfits (secured by velcro through loop bindings). Weeeeeeeeird.
I watched a titch of TV, expecting M to call before the hoity-toity horsie event, but I didn't get a call until 10:15 tonight. Supposedly, it had been fabulous and a whole bunch of people had asked why I hadn't been there. Well, I would not have felt comfortable being there with that many people because of my normal visual problems and the floaters/sunglasses thing would have just made things much worse.
Before M called, I had a nap and ... nightmares ... again. Grrrrr. Anyway, my eyes are a bit better. Yesterday, the floaters were severe (looked like the organic spider ships from Babylon5). Today, there are only remnants. But I guess I have to take it easy. Le sigh.
Easy-going hugs (with sighs attached),
H.
