It's been a very busy day - as you may have gathered from the subject line. I got home just 90 minutes ago and I left at 10:30 this morning. Brian picked me up and we had to drive to North York to get some stuff, then down to Griff's for bagels and Daiters for Lox and Cream Cheese. Then he dropped me off at the North York Library and I sat around and did nothing in the auditorium until everybody showed up. It was the Christmas Party of the Star Trek, etc. club I belonged to a decade ago. I had an okay time, even though I seemed to be a little confused wondering whether or not I recognized somebody (did I fail because they'd changed so much and I couldn't see them that well or were they newbies after my time - as if there could ever be anything after my time).
But there were anough people who came up to me to make me not feel so alien - and that was a good thing. I exchanged e-mails and addresses with some of them.
Anyway, besides the scrumptydelicious bagels, etc., etc. (which I covered in red onions and forgot to pack breath mints), there were crudites, cut up fresh fruit, cheese and crackers, the two pates I'd brought, meat lasagna, veggie lasagna snd trifle. I think that's everything. The only thing I didn't touch was the meat lasagna. And, of course, there were non-alcoholic drinks.
After the conclusion of the party, a bunch of us decided to catch The Golden Compass at the cinema a few blocks away. That meant having Brian drive us down there. We got in 15 minutes late (still during the stupid commercials). I'm not sure how I feel about the movie. It didn't help that I was yawning (I hadn't slept well because of the serious sore throat), I'll probably read the books but won't bother with the movie sequels.
So, after that, we were wondering where to go for dinner. The better place was Japanese ... but it was back in the building we'd just left. Le sigh. Oh, Briiiiiian. Yes, we drove there, but the good thing was there was an open drug store so I got proper cough syrup and sinus pills. Oh, joy. There will be sleeping tonight. I ordered the teriyaki beef & tempura bento box dinner. I also had a 9-oz flask of hot sake (mostly for my throat and pain). One of our group wants me to score her some good SPN fic, so I'll be hunting up stuff. ::nudge, nudge, wink, wink:: Aaaaaaand, after that, it was finally time to get driven home. ::giggles:: And I'll be seeing Brian again tomorrow evening. Because we live in and out of each other's pockets!
So, when I got in, I watched This Mortal Coil of Stargate Atlantis. Ohhhhhh. See, I'm not saying a thing, not spoilering but ... there were TWO notes that were transcendent. So, I must watch that passage again and again.
Otherwise, I'm zonked out and am sending sleepy, yummily sated hugs to all.
