Two dreams influenced by my shivering while trying to sleep.

Dream 1:
I was being forced to either volunteer or work for pay at the DMV, despite the fact that I kept insisting that my blindness would get in the way. Hee - a very scary thought to know that I'd be in charge of trying to match licence plates with people's identifies.

Dream 2:
There was some sort of protest/fund-raiser to show solidarity with queer people who were being executed in some country or other. You could sign a pledge sheet and then agree to have manual sex only (no oral, no penetration), basically with a stranger under a sheet. I'd looked over and found two members of my chosen family ... um, getting it on. But I couldn't attract their attention. Hmmmm, I wonder why ::giggles::. NOT! There was a huge whiteboard with 5 large Xes indicating how many people had already been executed. So I decided to join the protest. The next thing I know is that I'm under a sheet with a guy I've never seen before and he had tattoos all over his back. Now I normally can't stand tattoos, but I found them fascinating. And, then, I woke up, still shivering and quite miserable.

Well, the first part of today was not yummmm at all. Between not sleeping enough (scheduled 8 hours, but woke up after 5) and then shivering while dreaming through an early afternoon nap, I couldn't warm up even when I woke up again. So it was a chore to get ready and dressed. I decided to wear my red scarf and sparkly jewelry again (as I can't get close to my closets to find my ivory sparkly scarf).

Brian really had hoped to leave on time but got stuck trying to referree an argument at work. So, he was a while getting here. But it was nice to be entirely ready. Tonight, we made a Teriyaki Chicken Breast with Swiss Cheese sandwich (enhanced by thinly sliced red onion, Brian's home-pickled jalapeno and grilled pineapple). It was accompanied by heirloom tomatos, fermented black garlic and really unusual salad greens, all tossed with the salad dressing I'd decided on (and Brian made, namely extra virgin olive oil, red wine vinegar, alfalfa honey and chopped garlic). Hee - I have terrific salad instincts.

The weird thing is that there was Too. Much. Food. Even weirder when you consider that all I'd eaten during the day had been one glass of fruit juice and two avocados (not exactly stuffing myself there). It was good, but we decided (and I've blogged) that we'd prefer to make it into a huge summer salad, chopping the chicken into chunks and adding even more fruit.

On the way back, Brian drove me to find a bank where I could deposit my cheque. And then drove me home, dropping in to give l'il Liblikas a wee bit of a talking to, so that I could have my spell check (thank you very much). She seems to obey when he sits in front of her. The moment he disappears, she goes back to misbehaving. But I think she's being a good 'puter, so I can go back to writing my two McDexes. I've just updated my portion of our food blog. Anyway, time to write some more ... and drink my ice-cold water, comme d'habitude!
