Yes, I know. Alert the presses, even though that is a concept that's no longer really valid. Why wait for news at 11, when you can have it NOW?
Anyway, it was a trifle chilly this morning, so I donned my leggings, tunic, wool jacket, black and gold patterned sweater, coat and scarf and gloves. And - ugh - hateful socks. And, also, the citrine brooch from M ... for the first time in 26 months. Well, it takes time for objects to be leeched of bitterness and betrayal. My driver did some creative sightseeing and obstacle diversions, as there was yet ANOTHER charity run through downtown TO. Ack. Wrecks my Sundays.
My sis RS was there which was good. I spent a little time in the peaceful chapel before the service. And Brent mentioned he'd been a special guest at the opening of the Etobicoke Children's Centre. Hey, Brent! You were in my 'hood! I was on duty and absolutely loved it. I kept getting the same people between anointing and communion. Happy faces. Though it was too crowded to go into social hall for birthday cake, one of my oldest friends snagged me the tail end of a piece and I thoroughly enjoyed its nutty goodness. The only sad thing about today is that our annual service of blessing of the animals was at 3 p.m. and it's just too long a day for me to hang around, especially as I'm not a cat-mother, only a cat-auntie. Le sigh.
I had a nice cab driver on the way back who got stuck with the aftermath of the run. But, eventually, he got me back to my neighbourhood. I stopped in at the drugstore to pick up scripts, then doddled over to the supermarket for - what else but - 'nanas, chocolate, granola bars, (shhhh, don't tattle) halloween candy, as well as probiotic yogurt to help my insides, as well as two luxurious treats: a small round of brie and artisanal sea salt & rosemary foccacia. When I got in, I went overboard on the bread and cheese and then - shamefaced - offered the rest to John, because there's no way I'd be able to finish the bread before it expires.
I've just had 'nanas for dinner and more water (important stuff). I developped a few more ideas in my head for the challenge!fic, but didn't feel like writing it down. There's always tomorrow. Which is just reminding me that I have furniture to move (that microwave) and clothes to hang up. Oy. Okay, I think I'm done. I need to lie down and get some downtime. Bye, all.
