Okay, okay, I know. Cryptic or what?

It's just that, with the exception of my brekkie (which was an absolutely divine penne with sauce and sausage, also peas and such cute sliced carrots), apples were a very important component of my day.

But, first, back to basics. Like the cough from outer space. I desperately needed a nap at noon, so set the alarm for 2:00. At 1:59, an enormous coughing fit woke me up. Ack! I was too leery of catching a chill to have a shower, so I just started getting ready for my usual Thursday. But, first, I had some gala apples. And a couple of 'nanas. And then went back to putting on my makeup. I wanted to cheer myself up, so wore my red silk top with black slashes.

I was thrilled that Brian (who's been working extra hard lately) left work early, because I wanted him to take me to No Frills. I was out of a few things and didn't exactly care to spend more than I absolutely had to. I managed to snag the last bottle of Vitamin D in gummy form. Yay.

We got to his place by 5 and that meant we had loads of time. Tonight's episode was Waldorf Salad. I've only had it once before and that was when I made it for a very special party. Brian's was exquisite, mixing mayo, lemon juice, salt, Splenda i/o sugar, celery hearts, plumped raisins, fuji apples, crushed walnuts and halved red grapes. It was so good. My archeological skills detected that the taste was enhanced by the salt and lemon juice.

While we ate dinner, we watched another dessert epi Brian had made with his work friends. He also brought out Volume 2 of Cook This Not That which I scanned avidly. And, then, he displayed the show-stopper. We're going to be making our own movie-like trailer for our Christmas Special. ::giggles with glee:: It's going to be So. Much. Fun. As for the actual Christmas Special, we'll be filming it on November 27. Oh, my. Better start preparing.

Unfortunately, time flew by, so he came down with me near 8. But my bus was already waiting for me, so I got home very quickly. When I came in, I told John I had milk. Coincidentally, he'd also bought milk. So we both had bought the same kind, and 3.25%. Well, I won't have to skimp on cereal. I'd already been prepared to have more of my apples as a night-time snack, but he gave me Yet. Another. Apple. This one was an organic red delicious. And, yes, it was.

Okay, enough about apples and milk and waldorf salad. I'm just brimming with health-promoting foods. I hope I'll also have a restful night. Until tomorrow, nighty-night.
