Arrgghh.
Even catatonia isn't what it once was - a long time ago. Because after 3.5 hours, I'm up again. So I might as well talk about carbohydrates.

Thursday morning saw me enjoying my swedish meatballs, broad noodles, peas and carrots. John sent me an e-mail, asking me to soak chickpeas for his dinner. Um ... scavenger hunt, as he'd tidied up and I couldn't find anything. But I persevered. And then reacted to brekkie. Oh, hai, bed. Well, I just had a teensy nap, to the best of my memory. Then, as time was beginning to run short, I had only ONE soup - mushroom - for lunch.

I started getting ready later than I found comfortable, so had to rush. My colour scheme was based on my red-black slashed silk top. As I believe I've wrung every last bit of use of my really, really old hairpiece, I dragged out my Dolly-Partonesque full blonde wig (that doesn't look good that way) and, after pulling my upper hair back, attached it at the crown, then fiddled around with some of the forward curls, catching them with a fancy stiff black lace hair clip. Hey - I have bouncy curls again. [See icon.]

Brian showed up shortly after 5 and we were off. Tonight's epi was a surprise to me (and I actually don't mind that, as it shows on camera). So ... it was Pad Thai. Mmmmmmm. The starter came from a box holding the noodles and sauce. Brian added chicken thighs and stir-fry veggies as well as crushed walnuts (i/o peanuts), along with the scrambled egg, tons of chopped cilantro and lime wedges. Mmm-mmm-mmmmmmmmm. Yup, it was SO good, mostly due to the cilantro and lime flavours.

While we ate dinner, we watched two more epis (Divinely Decadent Cheese Tasting and Onolicious Banana Pancakes). The freaky thing is that - because we taped these months ago - I forget my on-camera responses (all impromptu) and Say. The. Same. Words. Again back at the screen. Wow! And something funny: I used to hate the sound of my recorded voice, because I sounded so blase. Well, unless my voice has changed drastically, I believe it's simply the case that I'm being recorded in HD now and I sound Just. Fine! And - hey - my EARS are exquisitely sensitive in identifying different sounds.

Alas, too soon it was 8 and Brian escorted me downstairs. Luckily, the minivan drew up while we were still saying our goodnights. So I was home shortly and - as you know - didn't last long.

Right now, my eye hurts (nothing new there), but I also have a headache on the right side (which is unusual). Okay, I'm taking a painkiller and sliding back into bed. Let's hope for a few more hours of sleeeeeeeeeeeep.

But first, 9:00 a.m. and the alarm was so not a welcome sound. But I did have things to do. Still, brekkie came first, namely turkey, stuffing, gravy with mashed 'taters and carrots and cauliflower. They even included a wee packet of cranberry sauce. Let's just say I inhaled the turkey (and I still don't like turkey, but it was very good). And I sent an e-mail to my sis, RS, to mention how good brekkie was. I'm sure she still doesn't believe me.

I finally went through the utilities closet and pulled out all my bags of stuff. I found (by trial and error) a power bar that could handle the microwave or kettle and plugged it into the kitchen outlet. That meant the extension cord was now long enough to lie flat along the entrance, winding behind the bookcase, into the bedroom, behind another bookcase, in front of the closet, behind the fireplace (ask how much fun I had standing on a stepstool in order to drape the cord over the lamps and the tall mirror) before finally reaching the microwave.

I also found the phone splitters and new line, so it shouldn't be too long before I actually have a phone in my room. I also chugged everything on top of the bed so I could move the recliner away from the fireplace and turn it on. Oh, it's marvellously toasty warm. Only when the room was bliss did I attempt to wash my hair. I left the fireplace on. When I got out of the shower, I started to blow dry my hair. Um ... I'm sure you have an inkling of what happened next. Yup, I blew a fuse. But I had a spare and knew which one to replace. Just had to empty a shelf in the linen closet (stupid builders), but soon I was back in business, drying my hair.

Lunch was a delightful cheese omelet (made in the microwave, natch), served on multi-grain German bread. And dinner was yogurt, 'nanas and - so far - one apple, though there's a second one on the on-deck circle. I felt in a musical mood, so switched the classical station on my 'puter. And all of the lights are off with the bright and cheerful exception of the tree and the pretend-pillar candle lamp. So I'm a happy camper I accomplished stuff today (and put the closet back together neatly). Also wearing slippers I brushed, so that's also a good thing. Okay, it's almost sleepy-time. With more stuff to do tomorrow (like what to do with the bags on the bed with which I must share space tonight). Oy!
