I started off the day with my customary Wednesday brekkie (before the new ones get delivered), so of course it was ham in honey mustard sauce, scalloped 'taters and baby chinese veggies. Oddly, I didn't lick out the sauce - it just tasted too strong. My food got delivered a little later than usual, but the volunteer was so cute, admiring my red dress. Um ... lady ... that's my nightgown! So I told her I was getting ready for Christmas.

John had left me home-made carrot soup in the fridge, so I had that instead of my own frozen stuff. There were chunks of potato, halved zucchini as well as still crunchy chickpeas. Definitely yummy! And then came my one-and-only nap of the day. Of course, when I woke up, I had to scurry, washing my hair and feeling miserable while standing. And then finishing the dishes before warming myself up in front of the fireplace.

So, of course, with all of this hurrying, he texted me saying he'd be home late (hasn't come in yet). So I took the opportunity to feed my inner-Audrey ('cuz me tum is simply screaming for more food) by cooking up the last of my pasta and mixing it with a jar of roasted portabello sauce. As I was low on pasta, I only got three portions out of it. And I had some of my multi-grain rye bread with sliced cheddar for dinner. Yes, it's the carbs that are keeping me semi-sane.

So far today, I've watched Glee (Oh, Kurt, baby! - not to mention the cute private school boys), as well as the show I'm not naming (duh). And I watched last Sunday's church service. It was a blow to the gut to see what I can't see in the sanctuary. During the anthem (something about flying above), the names of all of the Canadian service members who have given up their lives appeared, word by word, since the beginning of the decade. Of course, it was enchanting to hear the small vocal group sing the Vancouver 2010 official theme song for the offering. Beautiful voices. And I seemed to catch the camera's eye while doing anointing. [Yes, I'm vain, but I really wanted to make sure the colour of my hairpiece is close to my own. It was.]

And, now, I'm going to watch this week's N.C.I.S. And my fave character, Abby, though Ducky isn't too far behind. Tomorrow, I think I'm going to have my classical music station on all day long, as they'll be playing music especially chosen for Remembrance Day. And I'll remember my daddy who did all sorts of amazing things in both the Polish and Canadian armies.
