Yes, definitely busy. Up at 7, though then I ... dawdled. Had a lovely brekkie of Chicken a la King with smashed 'taters and broccoli. Finally threw myself into the shower and got dressed. It is amazingly warm out, aka 48F. I love it. I got to the nail salon just in time before it started getting busy. And I loved playing with the remote control for my massage chair. Just keep me there, it's so soothing to my back.
Did the drugstore for eyedrops, acidophilus and a birthday card for my sis. Then went sorta, kinda overboard (just a titch) at the supermarket, picking up gravlax, bagels, vine tomatoes, shallots, cookies, chocolate almond bark, eggs, cola, cream cheese, cheddar cheese, gala apples, crackers, microwave popcorn. Huh, I think that's it. Of course, on my way home, I had to drop the lightest bag ... the one with the eggs, natch. And broke one.
I enjoyed my picnic-type lunch of semi-hard-boiled eggs, bread'n'butter pickles, kalamata olives and crackers. And then I relaxed. John called to say he'd be home around 4:30 and was going out for the evening. So, when he did leave, he wished me a happy new year and I returned the sentiment.
I started to prepare my luxe meal, aka bagel with gravlax and sauce, cream cheese, sliced shallot and tomato. No, of course, it's not traditional. And I poured myself ONE drink (rye and cola on ice) and was already tipsy half way through. Oy. Getting old. I mean ... being old. I decided to watch the Royal Canadian Air Farce New Year's Eve special and enjoyed it thoroughly. And, now, I'm watching Les Ballets TrocKadero in their rendition of Swan Lake (Act II). I can't wait to get to their Black Swan solo. The friendly cat spent some time lazing on my bed and showing off her tum, so I obliged by stroking her.
Okay, I'm going back to the ballet and perhaps just some straight cola on ice. I hope everybody is safe and relatively sound tonight. Much hope of dreams fulfilled in the new year. Cheers!
