Yeah, I know. It's supposed to be ... "diamonds". But, alas, not in my case.
Once again, the cold weather is really affecting me in SO not a good way. I kept putting off going out, even though I really needed to, in order to get money and to mail a cheque. Yes, call me ... responsible. Well, something amazing happened. For those who don't know me well, I never go out unless I'm dressed in a coordinated manner, complementary colours and everything. I may not have makeup on, my hair may look eeksome, but at least I do not present a jarring picture. So, here I was, black leggings, beret and capelet shawl collar with my cheery red swing coat. A woman stopped me on the street and said I looked wonderful. Ha! I certainly didn't feel wonderful, being subjected to cold, damp and cloudy yuckiness. But we both had a lovely exchange of words and that cheered me up immensely.
I also started chatting with another woman on the way back home. I had to laugh, though, because she seemed to be carrying a bundle of NOW magazines, not the usual reading for someone nearly 10 years older than I am. Yes, yes, I'm generalizing (precisely because ONLY I am allowed to remain youthful ::sighs:: on the inside).
When I got home, I had my reward (a cruller) and watched my SGA episode for tomorrow. [I'd also watched this week's N.C.I.S. and Little Mosque on the Prairie.] Then ... painkillers for the eye/headache and a nap. And, now, I'm going back to checking up on everybody else's day.
