::stretches and reclines in sybaritic splendour::
Oh, now that's much better! Mind you, this morning hurt like hell. And I was having problems getting motivated to get out the door. I also had the problem that the convenience store across the street had removed the banking machine I use. Arrgghh. So I had to call the nail salon to see if they accepted debit cards. Oh, great: they did. I made an appointment for 12:30. And then I got in the shower and dressed. For once I decided not to wear the freshly washed cotton/lycra leggings that were so hard to pull up for the leg massage. I wore ::gasps:: my calf-length black&white dress with sandals. Eeeek! Bare legs! Cover your eyes. ::giggles::
I was late getting to the salon and had also forgotten my red nail polish at home. So ... in the months since I've been there, they replaced their three old pedi spa chairs and added four more. These were simply divine and I adored being massaged for the 90 minutes I was there. The woman next to me was choosing to have a butterfly painted on her big toe nails, so I took a look at the various designs. Huh. I didn't know they were added free-hand. Perhaps I'll try one the next time.
When I was done, I picked up ibuprophen (extra strength) at the drugstore and then hit the supermarket. Oh, how lovely: they knocked two bucks off the price of a side of smoked salmon. Can you tell I've decided to stay home on my birthday and have salmon on rye along with a bottle of pink sparkling wine (instead of going out for sushi).
My shopping done, I limped home ... because I was still in pain from yesterday, not to mention all the scraping of my feet at the salon. When I got in I had a glass of Coke, more painkillers and Miss Vickie's 'tater chips. What! It sounds balanced to me. ::snickers::
Before John came home, I sent him a reminder about my invite to Friendship Sunday at church. Yay – he accepted, and the offer of a ride, too. I've been taking it easy for the rest of the evening and am going to end the day with one last dose of painkillers. I want this pain gone-gone-GONE! ::whimpers in supplication to the universe::
