So, yes, apparently I was able to extend my 3-hour nap - NOT willingly, mind you - to SIX hours. The only thing that woke me up was severe cramping pain in my right hand. ::sighs::

Well, I finally broke down and called my GP's office, making an appointment for next Wednesday. When I asked about directions or a floor plan, when the receptionist started talking about "escalators", I just about screamed in frustration. So my only bet is to arrive at the security desk and MAKE someone accompany me to wherever the sekrit elevators are. I so hate the fact that all the family practice docs moved and only the walk-in clinic ones remained at the location I could access fairly easily. Mad as hell (and I feel justifiably so).

Anyway, now that I'm up, I think it's time for a glass of blueberry-flavoured water and a wee bit of SLOGging. Oh, my. It's been a political storm (or should I call it a meltdown in progress) politically all day long. I've commented and may just do some more. I also checked in with my personal e-mail account and saw that the birthday boy had acknowledged my birthday wishes. Barely. ::rolls eyes in dismissal:: Until later....

After last night's weirdness, I went to bed after 4, setting the alarm for 8 (because of the cats, as I am a responsible mommy). I woke up at 7:55. Fed the cats, then turned into a zombie. But I managed to get a lot done. Booked my rides to go to the doc's. As the address wasn't registered, I had to do it by phone and had the most delightful reservations agent. She was a doll and went through all my destinations, adding the notation of my visual impairment. After all, why should it be MY responsibility to look for drivers when I can't see??? Simply logical. Then I got into working on an application form that's been a thorn in my side for ages. Even so, I could only type so much before I was too tired to think. And I phoned to reschedule an appointment from next week to the following one. If I'm lucky, I won't have to go in person, but be able to do it over the phone.

Surprise! John called from England. I told him we're all fine and that the cats really appreciate that I'm in their living space while I'm on the computer. They've all been coming up to me for cuddles ... even the most standoffish one of them, Missie Tao with the Egyptian-looking ears. Anyway, he said he'd call in one week's time.

I've had my 3-hour nap, a bit difficult because the colder temps are aggravating my joint pain. Ack. The hallways were painted today and the smell was rather ... pungent. Even my fave meal delivery lady commented on it, though she thought the colours were pleasing. Still, it's going to be awful when they get around to doing the doors. Ugh. At least I've amused myself with my customary source, SLOG. The political fallout has been hilarious, especially from Colbert and ... uh ... the other guy.

I'm feeling the tug of sleep again. ::sighs:: Can I blame that on the paint fumes, too, and not just the sore throat? I know: my blog where I can do Anything. I. Want.
