Good thing, the joy won out. Joy? Really?

Yes, really. Even though it was cold and dull, when I walked outside before 1:00 p.m. for my pickup, the sun came out. Then, when I arrived at the library early, the person using the room before left, so I could make myself comfy. The movie was "Sully" and I loved seeing it. It was based on the "Miracle on the Hudson" and the bureaucracy of the airline trying to pin the blame on him for crashing (he said it was a forced landing) the plane and damaging it. I cried when he was vindicated at the end. I hadn't known that Clint Eastwood had directed it or Tom Hanks starred in it. Even though I'd taken one drop of atropine before leaving home, it wasn't enough for recognition of that magnitude. Anyway, I'm on the wait list at the library for the book by him.

Another good thing was networking with my blind tribe. The Irish visitor was there again … so I said we were adopting her. And Paula mentioned that Peter's portable CCTV reader (the size of a laptop) only cost them $400 because the government finally got around to covering most of the cost. Oh, that's fabulous because I can't deal with using just the teeny lit magnifier for larger things. I'm going to see if I can make an appointment with the resource person when I'm at our monthly meeting next Tuesday.

More happiness that I didn't have to sit outside for my ride home. The driver came inside early. The other passenger had been a young man who tends his family's plot at the cemetery. He remembered me. And the sun came out just as I got home around 4:30. Cue hot onion soup with a splash of white wine to warm me up.

Watched my afternoon legal shows (oh, the one with the poly "triple" - Asian guys with the plaintiff looking like a Vietnamese Kurt Hummell! One judge said that all couples get bored. When they do, they don't go looking for another shared lover ... they go to Hawaii! Also watched Dragons' Den. Then I worked on my first Reversebang fic a bit more (editing and inserting the fab book cover) before I had to restart my computer and somehow my colour scheme improved. Which means I must have hit something accidentally. Still haven't tried to watch a video. ::crosses fingers for tomorrow morning::

In conclusion, I'm so glad my distractions and joy pushed the pain to the curb. Now, scram!
