It happened. Overnight. And I was ever so lucky /sarcasm to feel a few extra hours of the deep freeze because I woke up at another stupid palindrome (aka 5:05). I stayed in bed for a while and continued reading. Then, slowly, I built up the stupid layers and took out my winter coat for the first time this season. The new lining is gorgeous. Very dramatic.

I wasn't the only one bemoaning the weather. SuM's car refused to start, so she had to call a tow truck to take her to the garage (which was her original destination to have snow tires put on). Oy. My ride was expected at 9:50. I left via the garden at 9:35 and was surprised (and relieved) to see my driver (who'd been too "polite" to ring the door bell). Silly man. Still, he got me to the mall before 10 and my stylist took me immediately. Major anxiety released.

After I was a sleek blonde again, I had my pedicure that was less satisfying. Every time someone came into the mall, the cold blast of air flowed into the salon and gave me goosebumps. So, despite the relaxation (and foot care), I'm suspending pedicures until March. I laughed because the owner put Press'n'Seal sheets over my toes before pulling on my socks and boots. Talk about all purpose.

I had just enough time to pick up a couple of things at the supermarket, then waited for my ride. Luckily, I got home before sunset. Huge sigh of relief. When I got in, S. gave me an ice scraper they picked up. Yippee. I can now deal with the wee bit of frost in my freezer.

I was so sleepy, even more so after I had my honey garlic chicken wings. I recorded and watched Jeopardy! but it didn't register with my brain. Poor brain. It must still be frozen. I dozed off for a while, but still hope for blessed sleep tonight. Okay, back to reading.
