Well, I shouldn't be too surprised, considering the house has been way too quiet. Now it all makes (some) sense. I also shouldn't be so surprised, considering that I woke up at 5:unknown o'clock. No, I wasn't paying attention to the exact time. I was too busy groaning. So I read in bed until I had to recharge the battery. But I'm making great progress in the book - only a few more chapters to go. Unfortunately, there are grotesqueries (no, I don't care if it's not a word) in the female characters' childhoods that have been bringing up several unsettling memories from my own. Can I call that anti-nostalgia ... because they certainly weren't the good old days.

By late morning, I was feeling very draggy, so sent myself to bed for a nap sans alarm clock shortly after noon. Pleasantly shocked to sleep all the way to 5:20. Didn't even eat a proper dinner, just a warm bagel with cream cheese. So that just left enough room in the evening to watch the news and game shows. Happy for the third finalist in tonight's Jeopardy! Can't wait for the finale tomorrow.

Then I had to call my blind group co-conspirator as she'd left me a message regarding our party next week (no, we don't wait for December). And Brian made a reservation for something called the "Nutcracker Tea" for a couple of weeks hence. I'm still trying to find out what it's about. Must check the latest e-mail. Anyway, back to the book. If I finish it tonight, then it'll be out of my mind sooner. Well, that's my realistic attitude for you.
