Obviously, I'm talking about … sleep. When I woke up at 4:20 (I know, right?), I was so upset, as I'd only gone to sleep after midnight. But, after a short drink of water, I dared to hope and returned to bed. Imagine my shock to sleep all the way to 9:28. Now that was what I'd call good sleep.
As I didn't feel like having hot food (not after yesterday's stew), I had a 'nana for brekkie. Saved the traditional pot roast for dinner. Received the communications from church to proof-read mid afternoon and was done with it before 5. Yay! Watched this week's Coroner with its twists and turns. She has an impromptu Sunday Thanksgiving Dinner. There's a problem with the plumbing, so her lover goes off to find a well. The closest one uncovers a stink. Of course, it's a dead body in the well. After her examination, the bag of bones (because the fat has turned into a waxy substance) is sent to TO where her staff try to reassemble the skeleton. Only one problem: there's an extra rib! To be continued.
I also watched a thrilling, yet emotional MacGyver; not sure but it's possible the actor who plays Jack Dalton (George Eads?) has left the show? More medical trivia: after Riley was injected with cyanide, Mac saved her with an aerosol he'd created where one of the necessary components was human blood, so he used his!
Finally, I was sitting in front of the computer when my phone rang at 10:37. The beautiful violin music signified it was a friend, but I still had to rush to snatch it up to answer in time. It was my blind friend Janet who hadn't shown up at the big Expo on Saturday. She's been down in the dumps, and it's her birthday this Friday. Obviously, too late to plan getting together, but we were supposed to have two pub afternoons this month. We talked for half an hour. I told her to watch TV that makes her laugh. And I'm hoping she'll be at book club in a couple of weeks.
I'm yawning now (hey, body, don't tease me), but I'm going to try to stay up for a while as I'd dozed off earlier. And my fingers are throbbing with pain. Ugh. So, time for a ginger beer and painkillers!
