So, the celebration was easy. It was Anniversary Sunday at church, so I wore my medal as did many in the congregation. We have the largest number of long-time members in the entire denomination. Church-John received his 10-year medal while Teresa who sits next to me and has been attending for 40!!! years won one of the significant awards for dedicated long-time service. Ash showed up and took piccies. Both of them also joined us at lunch at our old fave haunt in the Village. C-J, Ash and I sat with Brent and his hubby John (I sat next to Brent) enjoying delicious food and wide-ranging conversations.

This is where my medical confusion pops up. I believe it was the last day of Summerlicious, so I ordered the 3-course meal. I had chilled sweet potato, coconut and lime soup (divine); lamb ragu in a reg wine reduction with root veggies, green beans, decadent garlic mashed (and I almost never like mashed 'taters), washed down by a glass of rose; finally chocolate-raspberry tartuffo for dessert. The ptoblem? It was simply too much food. At lunch. So I'm coming to the conclusion that I have become too accustomed to the smaller (obviously sensible) portions of the meals I have delivered to me.

Oh, better add electronic confusion to the mix. Brent's hubby was trying to get me interested in acquiring Alexa to coordinate all of my needs. ::rolls eyes:: I can't even get my phone to shut off the Snooze feature!!! Anyway, when we were leaving, I was pleasantly surprised to be hailed (Trek, anyone?) by Brian's and my mutual friend Peter. I was so blind I couldn't even tell if he was with anyone and I was too stuffed to introduce c-J. Ack.

Anyway, c-J got me home in one piece and helped carry in the supplements he'd bought me; he even threw in a bunch of grape freezies! After I was in, I immediately jumped in the shower and then sorta, kinda had a two-hour nap. Apart from the unpleasant repercussions of too much food, I've also had exquisite vision all day long! Was it the good company or wine or … the usual mystery? Too bad I didn't even feel like turning on the TV when I might have benefited. Sigh. So perhaps I'll try to take advantage by reading.
