My lovely waking shower was matched by the heavy rains (downpour even) we'd had overnight and in the morning. But, by the time I'd been picked up (before 11:30), the grass was dry as it tickled my toes. And then it was time for my pedicure. Unfortunately, I was put in the "care" of the owner's assistant and she caused me pain three distinct times, didn't even stop or seem aware of it until I actually said something. Hey, this isn't what I signed up for. Anyway, I emerged with pretty sparkly pink toenails.

Then I was hit with a burst of spontaneity, something I don't normally get to indulge in considering how regimented my travel schedule is. I'd already dropped in at the salon next door to say "Hi" to my stylist. When walking past, I thought I had just enough time to get a wash (something my arthritic fingers are lousy at) and a blow dry. She was just finishing up so could indulge me. I'd just taken a muscle relaxant for my defiant spine, so appreciated the extra time to just sit back and enjoy. I felt fabulous and continued on to the supermarket where I picked up my usual egg salad sandwich for lunch and an already-roasted chicken to take home. Even better, my driver was early, and got me home very quickly.

I couldn't believe the wall of blazing heat that greeted me upon leaving the mini-van. And then had to rush inside to guzzle chilled raspberry lemonade. I finally cooled off and watched my recorded TV. Ate a leg and both wings of the chicken, then hit the bed for a brief not-nap.

As I seem to have lovely crisp vision tonight, I think I'm going to stay up reading. And drink more lemonade. And run my hands down along my sleek hairstyle. Yay.
