Well, it wasn't exactly the outside world; it was my chosen baby brother Brian who came bearing gifties of foodies. Um, in falling-apart plastic bags? But, after he hauled the bags into the entrance, S. took over and then the screen door was shut. So, there we were, he standing out in the drizzle under a big umbrella while I clutched the door opening while leaning against the screen door. So close and yet so far. We talked until my joints started screaming and then we said our goodbyes … until the next time. He's definitely willing to make the drive out and, in fact, had to battle road closings and a circular route to the house. Brave Sir Brian!
Consequently, I enjoyed many of the goodies, such a spider rolls, celery hearts, and a lot(!) of Coke. Let's hope I can still sleep. Unfortunately, I'm going to have to change the lamb recipe because he got me double-thick, wee loin lamb chops which I believe I'll marinate and ask S. to roast for me.
After all that excitement, I watched my judge shows on TV, then returned to finishing my library book. My sight is fading a bit now (lemonade against sage green/brown)m but it's better than snow! And I did sleep until 9:09 this morning. More, please.
