No, I wasn't expecting this. When I woke up, it seems I'd sprained my right wrist - from excessive cane use. How unfair is that! I had trouble getting dressed (especially with my coat) and couldn't hold my large water bottle in my right hand to pour out of it. ::whimpers:: But, somehow, I got out the door before 9 to catch my van ride up to blind group where we had a terrific meeting. Our guest speaker was a blind triathlete who was a charming and effective speaker. Ha! When she originally expressed an interest in being a triathlete, she didn't start at the kindergarden level (the try-triathlete competitions), but at the Olympic level. She talked about swimming in Lake Ontario, being the only competitor without a wet suit - and it was c-c-cold. But she survived and thrived. Her medals were passed around.

I shared a ride with another member. We exchanged stories along the way home. When I came in, I asked S. if she could purchase a wrist brace for me, as I couldn't see things getting better without support. It was a good thing she was going out anyway. So, $36.15 later (eek!), I have an easy-to-wrap brace which I can't wear when I'm on my computer, because it interferes with hitting the correct keys. Arrgghh.

Okay, so I'll watch TV instead. There was last night's Bull as well as my regular judge/game shows. I kept dozing off, probably from pain exhaustion. Okay, kiddo, time for your lovely pain pills and sleeeeeeep. On the other hand, my sight was terrific for most of the day - from the stimulating meeting, contact with my wonderful friends, etc., etc.
