This … should NOT have happened. I took my regular painkillers last night. I took a muscle relaxant. I went to bed at 1 (ooh, so early). And, yet, I woke up several times feeling grotesque pain which oddly did not prevent me from conking out again several times. I remember hearing a yappy dog barking. And, then, I woke up and stayed up.

A long shower helped after which I put on my lovely Euphoria solid perfume. I didn't have lunch as I hoped my social afternoon would morph into a social evening. But it was not to be. Church-John picked me up around 3:30, then our friend Brian; because of bad traffic, we just made it to the theatre before the play began. Our friend Cory was in this year's Fringe Festival. He played "every" white guy (actually only 3, but I didn't know he was changing different coloured shirts) against a family from Japan. The playwright was in the second row behind us. The play was about culture and language and stupid people who ask stupid questions ("Where are you from from?"). Besides us, the new fundraising director (if I've got his function correct) of the church attended. Cory came out after the show to thank us for coming. He's so good: his YouTube video doing a BBT table read as Sheldon (he'd committed the whole thing to memory!) got me into the show as I hadn't even known it existed.

Anyway, after the show, c-J drove me home (I'm pouting, can you tell?). I had some pate on a bagel. I'm letting some ancient cheddar breathe and there's a bottle of rose in the fridge. So that's my relaxation for the evening. I'm also watching my recorded TV. And then I'm going to slide into bed.
