Can you say inconvenient?
I can. I've been without an Internet connection since Sunday morning, but I didn't realise it until well after I'd come home in the afternoon, because I'd kept a number of tabs open. So I didn't start futzing about with the modem until Sunday evening (with Brian providing virtual ER tech support).
So, in the interim I'm writing everything in a text doc. Like an amazing church experience. I'd already been warned in advance that it was a tissue-box special but I thought I was past that. Ha! As if. Brent just made me cry and cry and then cry some more. And I was on duty as well, so I got to share those emotions with others. I was thrilled that I was being picked up so soon after church (even though the driver was about 10 minutes late). Anyway, when we got to my neighbourhood, I insisted she drop off another passenger first, because the route didn't make any sense otherwise. She loved having me on the bus and wanted to know if I'd stay on for her entire shift. Hey, lady, I have to go home and vacuum. Which I did. The Swiffer should have been charged for a min. of 16 hours and I gave it 64. It weighs so little, I could just about dance with it. [Warning: check for my pod under the bed.]
I was trying to think of what I could do without the Internet. Um ... I'm still thinking. Yes, I did a little bit of writing. And I decided to watch The Producers but, with my back aching, I moved over to lie on the bed. Yet, then, I could barely see anything on the screen. So I gave up and turned it off. I went to bed after midnight, bored, bored, bored.
I woke up at 9 on Monday. It was a dark and rainy, yucky day. I still didn't know if I was going to have company, but that was finally confirmed shortly before noon. I still managed to wash the kitchen and bathroom floors and have a quick shower.
John called me while I was otherwise occupied (because I'd tried calling him last night with no luck). I said I'd call him back. He ended up coming down around 8:30 to turn off my modem and 'puter and see if he'd have any better luck. Short answer, no. So I called tech support and, based on what I told the guy, they're going to send someone out between 11 and 2 Tuesday. Waaaaah. I. Want. My. 'Puter!
Oh, well, it's time to go back to writing my stories. And, even though the 'net's not working, my computer is recording my TV shows just fine. So I can still watch Food Detectives. And, then, bed, with pain and rain.
UPDATE:
It's back, it's back, it's back. Hello, baby Liblikas. Your mommy missed you. So, now, all I have to do is play catchup. For hours. Yummm!
