Up after about sevenish hours of sleep. So I washed dishes, filled up the Brita pitcher, even the kettle (just in case I wanted tea), put soap and hot water into a pot and stuck it in the basin in the bathroom. And got in the shower, emerging with 4 minutes to spare.
It was thankfully cooler. There had been a titch of rain (though, never enough in my estimation) but it was cooler and less humid (though the humidity did ramp up in the afternoon).
So I worked All. Day. Long. Sorting and throwing out piles of stuff. I'm trying so hard not to be sentimental. I couldn't believe how many wee windup toys I had, purchased from Forbidden Planet in NYC 25 years ago!!! Gone. But there's one positive side-effect of conspicuous consumption when it comes to makeup. I found unopened boxes of Dior cosmetics (especially powder foundation and eyeliner). So that made me very, very happy.
Brian showed up after 6 and we did a quick run up to the cheapie supermarket. I stocked up on milk and eggs, because I'll be baking cakes this week. Yum ... flavoured with liqueurs. When we returned, we took mega bags of garbage and recycling out. And then checked out the bbq area where we'll be filming two al fresco episodes. Ack! Outside??? My makeup will surely melt.
Between the heat and the exertion (not to mention the fact that breakfast and lunch were ... ice cream), I feel like melting into a puddle of amorphous, non-functioning goo. So, that's what I'm going to pretend to be. And hope I can cool off soon. Nighty-night, all.
