Hee! Well, it ended up being a very restful 24 hours. After I scurried up and did 3 loads of laundry (and then huffed and puffed and made the bed) yesterday, I had a lovely bit of sleep (perhaps 2.5 hours). M. showed up at 3. We had drinks (rye and ginger) and then the chicken and salad from yesterday with a bottle of Gewurtztraminer (which I prefer these days; I'm sick to death of Sauvignon Blanc).

When I went out to get the mail (after 6), I bumped into John coming home from work, so I told him to drop in to say hi to M. and he did, making himself a cup of coffee and staying a bit. I love it when people can feel so at home at my place - it's a novel feeling. When John left, M. and I watched the ep. of Enterprise I'd taped earlier and then watched (suffered through) American Idol. You might say that Country is not our style of music.

I had a hot chocolate and M. another drink and then we were both yawning so badly, we toddled off to bed. And we slept. And we slept even more. Until about 11:00. Amazing. So we toddled out to the living room and I quickly iced the last orange cake and we had that plus tropical juice for brekkie. Then M. snuck back to bed while I placed my grocery order online. Alas, too soon it was time for M. to go home. But it had been very restful here at my hot_l (the way we pronounce it is to stress the "ho" and quickly elide the "tl"). M. always enjoys the stay. And it's so convenient; no to mention hot and cold running room service!

We talked on the phone during American Idol results show (and, hallelujah, the S.M. person is gone). I couldn't believe how many people were saying that he was the next Messiah ... because his name rhymes with Messiah. Oh, for crying out loud [thanks, Jack!]. How deluded can people be? No, don't tell me.

Anyway, I'm off to sleep soon ... ish. Just wan't to read a bit more on LJ.

Otherwise, restful hugs to all of you,
H.
