But at least it was a different kind of ow. I know, as if that would make me less grumpy.
I still managed to sleep in until 7. Yes, I'm really good at sleeping. And, once again, the stupid heat got to me. For distraction, I watched last week's epi of The Glee Project. Uh ... I didn't know it was last week's. So I'm one week behind. I also sent in my maximum 5 entries to win Chris Colfer's book. I didn't win. So I just entered in the other contest where one actually has to submit something showing talent. ::crosses fingers:: I'd really like to win something. It's been a whiile.
Brian was late getting to me because he had to pick his car up first. I suggested we should drive to Humber Bay Park, just one mile from my place. So we did. I'd only been driven through it quickly once before. He found a lovely place to park (and paid the machine a measly 75 cents for 30 minutes). Then we walked and I stumbled against the rough ground. Uh ... my left knee is now hamburger. Totally ground up. But I held on to him until we reached a lovely picnic table where we could look out onto Lake Ontario (a different view than from my place) and pretend we were on our own private island. ::giggles:: We have a tendency to do that.
Brian had packed sammidges. We had ham and cheddar on weird buns with honey mustard, mayo and arugula. He'd also packed wee bags of baby carrots and bottled water. Such a considerate host! While we ate, he showed me how to do more tricks with my smartphone, like updates. Oh, so that's what those thingies in the corner are. We also discussed the special reader I've been offered. I looked up that it could be connected to a monitor via an RCA cable. Uh ... just one problem. I have a flat screen and he thinks the manufacturer is referring to TV sets. So ... now I have to rethink my setup completely. Could I actually be outrageous enough to hook the reader to my 36” TV and be able to read from across the room, or lying in bed? Well, I have a month to try to figure out things.
Brian also brought up the topic of our cooking show and how he'd like us to move into more talking (and researching) rather than only cooking (since internet cooking shows are ::sighs:: so common). Hey, I love to talk and I'm also good with the researching. So ... we have a silly sub-heading title. Whether we keep it ... who knows.
Alas, it was after 7:30, the meter had expired and Brian had to get me home, because he was flying to Montréal around 7 a.m. Eeeeeeeek! When I got in, I had to feed the cats, because I'mtheir mommy in charge today and tomorrow. And, now, contest entered, I can take another totally useless painkiller and grump some more.
::rails against the universe:: GRRRRUMP!!!!!
