Yup. When people around me at church (where I'm more than likely to already be happy) asked me why I was beaming, I just smiled some more. Well, I did tell a few people - such as church John - what the particular reason was. As for the rest, it was the glorious weather and seeing people even wearing light coats. I myself wore my short black tunic over black leggings, as well as my traditional black capelet. I cut through All. That. Black by wearing my two real pearl necklaces and earrings. Oh ... and I'd slept wonderfully with the window closed nearly all the way - and had very vivid (but, alas, ephemeral) dreams.
I was a titch concerned because my pickup ride was 20 minutes late this morning. Why? Because my driver's printed dispatch sheet was so faint, he went to not one but TWO incorrect numbers first. Arrgghh. But finally I got there and still had time to sit outside. I was on duty and suggested to the team leader that we have our pre-service prayers out on the chapel steps. Yay! Brent was back from vacay and preached. BD's roommate came up to me for a blessing and passed along BD's regards. Aww, that's sweet. After the service, I was still waiting to be picked up by a bus and talking to a man when my darling impish Brent walked by. He mock-admonished me - that I was going after a married man. I replied instinctively that I was simply trying to replace my "harem" (something he'd coined in the early 90s when I was putting on large social events while surrounded by many men under my finger).
I was still set to go walking by the lake but my left knee was screaming at me. Luckily, my right foot had been temporarily healed during the service but I still needed my knee to be on board. So, instead, I had my bus driver drop me off at the back of my building. I walked toward the edge closest to the lake and just sat there for half an hour. There were two swans in the lagoon. And white butterflies chased each other around me! It was sheer bliss.
The rest of the day flew by until I was forced to take a nap at 8:45 until 11:00. So, I'll just read for a bit now ... and smile some more. It may seem silly, to be smiling all alone, but it really does feel fantastic!
