* Such as sleeping in. Oh, definite yay.
* Such as actually washing my hair (with real shampoo). It feels good. I just wish I didn't need to wear hairspray when I pull my hair back into a ponytail. I guess I'll have to wait until the shortish bits grow out longer. Still, it's frustrating to have hair that won't behave. Every so often I get the urge to chop it all off. I remember attending one con looking like Sela (Tasha Yar's AU Romulan daughter though my outfit was pure glitzy dabo girl), including the upside-down pyramid bangs. My stylist couldn't believe I wanted something so drastic. But, now, I'd need to get it cut way more often ... so not a solution for me.
* Such as getting mail from the Foundation Fighting Blindness. Our former leader used to mistakenly call it "Federation" and I'm having trouble kicking the habit, especially when I think of them wearing superhero costumes. That's reinforced in a SF&F way as they're hosting a conference called VisionQuest in November. I may attend.
* Such as a shortened nap which I didn't mind so much because the reward was being awake for a lovely soaking rain. More please. And all the crickets came out after.

Refreshingly cool nights (so much so that the air feels positively COLD coming in through the window); however, I fear the depleted ozone layer as well as the severe lack of trees in the area makes an unwelcome difference in the daytime. For example, they built a special plaza/park next door to me. What's the feature beside a covered stage? A completely bare concrete space (where someone felt that laying the concrete down in wavy patterns was IT because of proximity to the lake).

Where are the concrete planters that could support patio umbrellas? Or pergolas (covered walkways, either with vines or awnings)? ANYTHING that could provide protection and shade. But no, nothing but another harsh reflective surface. ::scowls::

I really should have gone into architecture and design, however I probably would have made too much sense!
