The good:
It's Sunday. Always a huge yay. It turns out that Brent received lots of wonderful feedback during the week over the congregational consecration. But he said that, if we did it ALL the time, its impact would be diminished. Yeah ... but it was SO lovely.
People came up to me to say they watched me on TV last week. Yes, I know they meant "computer" but it always gives me a giggle. And I still have to watch those two services to see if I'm shown serving the baby!
Oops. I nearly thanked the wrong guy for the Lysol wipes. Good thing I didn't send that e-mail. I was approached this morning by a young-ish man who asked how I was enjoying them. Huh? That was you? Even better: he wants to be friends on FB and I'd had no idea who he was. Well, now I know. And it's nice to have a younger FB friend (he's in his early 40s though easily looks a decade younger).
The sad:
When the service was over, I noticed a text from Brian. Oh, no. The poor baby isn't feeling well. I waited until I got home to text him back. And then he called to talk. So I had to cancel our birthday dinner. Wah - I'm HUNGRY, also running out of food in general. ::sighs::
The bad:
This weather is driving me UP THE WALL!!!!! Yes, it was snowing some more and grotesquely cold. Luckily my driver walked up the driveway and knocked, so I could emerge. But, so far, I haven't removed any of my clothing (even put my thick wool capelet on) except for my coat and boots. I still am wearing my beret. Yes, I'm freezing and feel miserable. GRUMP to the max.
I'm also grumpy because tonight's Castle that plays a day earlier in Canada was last week's epi. More grumping. On the flip side, at least I watched two more epis of The Blacklist, meaning I'm all caught up. Though, TBH, there was So. Much. Shooting. ::sighs::
As if that weren't enough, I think I suffered an emotional relapse after Brian canceled and was immediately sick. I blame my body's override of the mind-over-matter philosophy because it wasn't going to get any Japanese delicacies as a reward. Silly body.
The heartwarming:
I was completely thrown for a loop when my cab driver on the way home began talking about that disgrace of a mayor and that he still has support. The driver started talking about RoFo's aversion to have ANYTHING to do with the annual Pride Parade (or Week). So we were merrily talking about the huge economic benefits to the city and yet the mayor won't touch it with a ten-foot pole. I mentioned another loud-mouth controversial mayor from the past, someone who may also not have been too comfortable with the "community". But he approached it with a sense of humour, sat on a firetruck in the parade, holding (and using) a super-soaker! Now that was a good sport. I was sorry that the ride was so short because the driver and I were having such a good, convivial time. The kicker: he's an immigrant from Bangladesh who surprised his supervisor when he first came to Canada and said he couldn't work on the last Sunday in June ... and told her why!
Well, I guess my day is done. I just wish I had an electric blankie to huddle in. POUT way beyond the max.
