Okay, so where did that come from, as it's been decades ::sighs:: since I've been to the zoo. Even though it was always a terrific place to visit, I was put off by the one-hour transit time each way. Okay on the way there but really tiring on the way back, as there was nothing to look forward to. As luck would have it, today's epi of Undercover Boss involved the head of the Toronto Zoo. I loved seeing last year's special exhibit of the African penguins - they were adorable. And there were gorillas. And an amazing orangutang that needed to be monitored by portable ultrasound monitors. Alas, there's no way for me to be able to go there on my own, unless I were in a wheelchair (and pushed by someone). I wouldn't trust myself even if they had scooter rentals, what with unremembered paths, etc. So, yes, I'm pouting ... and wondering whether I might be able to ... uh ... persuade Brian to take me there for my birthday. Hey ... it certainly would be a different experience! So I've got a couple months to work on convincing him. BTW, it was absolutely hilarious to see the big cheese having to deal with cleaning up poop, feeding the voracious penguins that were likely to bite off his fingers too or making sausages which are used to feed animals that spend a lot of time in water environments (wow, I learned something new) or to hide medications.
I didn't realize there had been a new epi of Castle last night - well, on the American station. So I watched that (very disappointing and totally improbable details such as Kate having a Russian accent for one sentence and then dropping it) and then tonight's N.C.I.S.
I'm still feeling wiped out from not having slept two nights ago. At the same time, I know I'm running out of time. I'd really like to submit my proposal to the church leadership tomorrow (Ash Wednesday), so I may have to work extra hard during the day (yikes - while I'm dying my hair?!?). Anyway, my responsible adult filter is telling me I just HAVE to go to bed at a reasonable hour tonight. Yeah, yeah, I'm listening to myself, lol.
