I had many reasons to rejoice. Let's start with the weather. It was sunny and relatively warm (around 48F, blissful with the added beams of heat). So I was able to forego boots (yay Mary Janes) and winter coat (wore a turtleneck, my regular capelet, with my long faux-leopard trimmed cape and matching hat). My bus pulled up just as I stepped onto the covered porch, so the driver was able to assist me down the treacherous stairs. Then we picked up Jan and were on our way to church where we were reunited with my other sis RS. We confirmed our Family Day do-over plans for tomorrow. Another yay.

As should be no surprise, the Easter service was wonderful. This year's "band" included two violins, viola, cello, double bass, recorder, clarinet, trumpet and drums. Hey, you should hear "Amazing Grace" in jazz style with the double bass adding syncopation. I was very pleased that Uncle Ernie came and sat behind me so he joined church-John and me for both Anointing and Communion. Ever since his last health scare, he's actually been kind and respectful toward me.

Ashley and c-J took forever to get their asses in gear after the service. Uh ... guys? I want to get to brunch and stuff hurts, so could we get a move on? They were dawdling so much that we had to figure out how to unlock one of the front doors! We got to my old fave village resto before 1. Ashley had saved us a table by the side window. She and c-J both ordered the classic breakfast while I was swooning over the lobster linguini but I switched to shrimp/salmon omelette. I think I should have gone for the lobster! Ashley had two pineapple mimosas while I had one mango mimosa and then a sextini (which contains peach schnapps as well as cranberry juice). We had a very relaxing couple of hours. I reminded both of them about the upcoming volunteer appreciation luncheon (we simply MUST attend) and cajoled c-J to take us to a fabulous resto in the boonies (one of our faves) the next time we go to Costco. Yay - we have a go for that, too.

Got in after 4 and really wanted a nap but couldn't because I had a review to write. So I did and only then was able to relax. Though I'd been feeling great before, I was having trouble keeping warm so crawled into bed. Watched MasterChef Canada while in a semi-stupor. Will have to rewatch tomorrow. I'm only beginning to warm up now (with the heater aimed at my back) though I'm sure the chocolate I'm having for dinner is partially responsible, too.

I suppose I'll slide into bed soon, really needing some solid sleep before I have to wake up tomorrow and go out and socialize again! Hark, is that a chorus of "yays" I hear? ::giggles and scampers off::
