And, yet, I feel compelled to write about this. Until recently, I had no idea of what the function of the Electoral College was. I'm only slightly more informed now.
After today's results confirmed that man as Prez, I'm putting the onus on the Electors. Knowing what they already knew of his (lack of) character, etc., they still confirmed him. You know, I could have even stood seeing Mittens getting the top spot. Instead, it's going to be a long four years (with repercussions continuing for far longer than one term).
There's one unexpected bright light from the U.N. with the special LGBT envoy still in place. Though I'm sure people would be expecting rights to be championed in many dangerously intolerant countries, I could also see non-straight Americans receiving human rights support from the U.N. Now isn't that a laugh?
Anyway, I'm just a definitely not impartial observer. And the above was my measly undervalued $0.02.
Afterthought: So, the Kuwaitis are trying to curry favour by cancelling their annual shindig at the Four Seasons and transferring it to his DC hotel. Because they want him to be pleased. ::shudders:: Ugh. Just. Ugh.
