First of all, I woke up at 8:44. Oh, thank you, cats, for letting me sleep in. Much appreciated. However, as the morning dragged on, I was really feeling the cold and wished I could reverse the furniture from one wall to the opposite - but that wouldn't work - so I just have to live with the cold from the outside wall. Sigh. I became sleepy and desiring warmth, so I followed the example of all of the smushy, furry fuzzies, joining them in a nap. Even though the lamp was on near the entrance (and normally the light level would be a sleep-disturber), I did fall asleep and woke up only at 3:34 - just in time to feed the kitties their lunch.

I finally got around to washing my new electric skillet and it was a pain. And the lingering odour of olive oil is still pungent. Do you get the impression that I won't be frying a lot (or at all)? Sigh. I wanted to fry just a few things (remembering the puffy chicken breasts I used to fry years ago by the lake). I also know better than to fry garlic or even onions. Cue more sighing.

Anyway, I'd better make my rounds of the house, make sure everything is secure and then it'll be lights out. Because of my early pickup time to go to Brian's tomorrow morning, I'll have to wake up at yuck-o'clock (aka 5:00 a.m.). Really hoping for cat cooperation, but I also drank the last of the eggnog. ::crossing fingers::
