Well, what a difference a day makes.

I received a request ... from an unexpected source, to proof/edit a technical paper (prior to its publishing date) written by someone whose first language had been French. Even though I wasn't too keen on the source, I was intrigued and accepted. So, I spent a few hours today polishing it (even though leaning over the keyboard to peer at the screen was extremely hard on both eyes and back). I was amused to see how I could see the French-thinking behind the word choices which, unfortunately, don't translate literally into English as she is spoke.

It would be lovely if I could get a couple more to do, as the per diem is not only respectable but robustly healthy. Okay, angels, send me more editing work. In any case, M is very proud of me for accepting the job.

I decided to treat myself by ordering in from Mandarin. Shrimp and other good stuff. And I had a Mike's Hard Lemonade. I decided to test my reflexes by playing my mindless video game. Oh, my, was I off. Imagine co-ordination as slurred speech. Yup.

Talked with John who is declining to be with us on Thanksgiving Day. So I suggested to M that we go out to dinner because I really don't want to go to all the time and trouble for just the two of us. It's not that I'm being unromantic, I'm just tired. Because, with more guests contributing to the bill of fare, there would be less frantic work for moi.

Anyway, that was my day. I'm going to watch the season opener of Little Mosque on the Prairie recorded earlier. As the show was so successful in its debut year, it's been given a full 20-odd episodes this season. Yay for the little fictional town of Mercy, Saskatchewan.

Hard-working hugs to all,
H.
