Okay, long day, started at 5:15. It felt so strange waiting for the cab at 6:50 a.m. because it was darkest dark outside. I arrived at the hospital after 8 and went and did the sit around and wait routine. I switched between specialists midway and ended up back at my old doctor's. So the pressure in my left eye has dropped from 54 to 36 (so I guess I've been diligent with the eye drops); the right eye, OTOH, increased from 14 to 18, but anything below 20 is okay. I had my left eye lasered and, now that I'm such an old hand at this, it was fascinating having the little greenish bolts of lightning dashing about. I'm supposed to have three more laser sessions.

After all of that, I had more than enough time to go buy tissue paper, ribbons, gift bags, dark chocolate (for health reasons, of course) and a lovely bath product gift basket for myself. And I got $25 knocked off the total bill from points accumulated. I received a surprise telephone call while at the hospital with the offer of an unexpected Christmas prezzie. Hey, this side of the see-saw I like. Finally my ride came after 2. When I got in, I dropped my stuff and went to the salon. But, alas, they could only take me at 4:30. So I bought a few groceries and went back home. And, then, turned around and headed out around sunset. And that's where the sidewalk and I became intimately acquainted. Evem with the presumed stability of the walker. Luckily there were two very nice people who caught the walker and helped me up. But OUCH!

So I was more than ready to sink into the massage spa chair and slide my legs into the hottest water they've ever used on me. Oh ... hear me whimper. I just love my red toesie woesies. I may even go barefoot on Christmas Day (indoors, that is). And, then, it was time to walk home very, very gingerly (perhaps even maryannly, too). When I got in, I hung up last year's wreath on my door and made pretty signs for the building's seasonal get-together tomorrow evening. And I rewarded myself by ordering in Chinese. Yes, all ouches must be honoured. And I had one glass of the alcoholic creamsicle drink. Definitely yumm.

I'm even going to take my arthritis meds this weekend, because otherwise the pain will be worse tomorrow.

Very silly, self-conscious hugs,
